Light of Mine will be screening Saturday the 5th, 7pm at the Spielberg Theatre located in the Egyptian, as well as Tuesday the 8th, 1pm at The Chinese Six Theatres. Stay tuned for more updates!

Here are the screening times for Light of Mine. It will be shown at the beautiful Varsity theater in Ashland. There will be 30 seats per show (so get there early), but 5 shows total from April 7th - 11th. Times are below:

Pulling it Together

We are in the home stretch of Light of Mine. The picture is almost locked- there’s always something that needs a slight visual adjustment or manipulation. We’ve accumulated some amazing music by some truly talented artists. We are excited to begin work with the talented Jason Edwards and John Askew for sound design and film composition. Their level of expertise and creativity is going to add a new layer to our picture. Our graphic designer is working on poster design and branding material. The goal is to pull it all together before the world premiere at the Ashland Independent Film Festival this April. Nothing like a challenging deadline to keep us on task!

Light of Mine will make it’s world premiere at the 2011 Ashland Independent Film Festival. Called “One of MovieMaker Magazine’s top 25 film festivals worth the entry fee” we couldn’t be more excited to debut our movie in Oregon amongst friends and the tremendously talented filmmakers A.I.F.F attracts. We hope to see you there! Screening dates and times TBA.

Shifting Gears:

We’ve been quiet as of late, buried in the process of editing footage, approaching the musical score and sound design. In spite of our detailed schedule and deadlines, Light Of Mine is being made on its own terms. Slow and steady wins the race.

On another note, we came across this article and video clip about Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours where he discusses using 2 DPs. We also used 2 DPs, Patrick Neary and Mike Ferry. The only drawback we’ve encountered? Deciding which footage to use.

Meet our crew: Brett Eichenberger, Director

Throughout high school and college, Brett Eichenberger directed various award-winning films, music videos and a season of the Pacific Northwest regional Fox action sports and alternative music television show, Insomnia. This led him to jobs in Los Angeles directing television for Fox Family Channel and Universal Studios.

Brett’s talent eventually brought him to Washington, DC, where he produced and edited documentaries and public service announcements broadcast in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Subsequent filmmaking assignments have taken him to Pakistan to film the earthquake devastation and to Egypt to produce a short film for the Pan-Arab community.

His short film, The Leeward Tide, has played in close to 40 festivals worldwide and received awards for Best Drama, Best Short Film, Best Music, Best Cinematography, Audience Choice Award, Best Regional Film, and was a monthly winner in Frontier Airline’s Cloud 9 Film Festival. His latest short film, The Cowboy Way, has played regionally and has also been used in the teaching curriculum at the Prague Film School in the Czech Republic.

Light of Mine is Brett’s first feature.

Meet our crew: Mike Ferry, 2nd Unit DP and Camera Operator

Mike Ferry’s experience as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator include feature, commercial, short film, music video, documentary, and television. Client lists include Intel, Nike, WSU Vancouver, City of Portland, City of Newport, and OHSU.

Currently Mike is working as Director of Photography on season one of the travel show “Next Stop” traveling the world featuring culture, food, and music from a variety of locales. Look for it coming in January to KPTV FOX.
Mike enjoys surfing, traveling, and of course filmmaking and is looking forward to telling new stories through film and video.

Meet our crew: Patrick Neary, Director of Photography

Patrick Neary’s experience as a Director of Photography includes feature, corporate and commercial work for the Disney Channel, Animal Planet, Turner Entertainment, Fox Television, Atlantic Records, Microsoft, Kraft Foods, REI and other national clients.

His work includes the feature film Calvin Marshall starring Steve Zahn and Diedrich Bader; the Animal Planet movie “Miracle Dogs” (as Ridgecrest Unit DP) starring Stacy Keach, Wayne Rogers and Kate Jackson; the Disney Channel movie P.U.N.K.S. (as Seattle-Unit DP) and 15 episodes of the TV series Critter Gitters.

Currently, Patrick is shooting season four of the nationally syndicated TV series Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller.

Neary’s portfolio of work also includes animation and motion graphic design. His first clay animated short “Otis v Monster” premiered at Seattle’s Bumbershoot/1-Reel Film Festival and played film festivals nation-wide, winning “best regional film” from the Tacoma Film Festival and capturing an official finalist position in Nickelodeon’s 2009 International Animation Festival.

As a designer he has created motion graphics and animation for regional and national clients including Microsoft, Fox TV, REI, Montrail and others.
