For those of you on the East Coast, we’re pleased to announce our screening time and date has been set for the Lighthouse International Film Festival. We’ll be screening June 1st at 9pm at the Island Baptist Church. Click here to purchase tickets. We’re pleased to announce that Light of Mine has won Best Feature and Best Director ”Deffies” at the 2012 HDFest in Portland, Oregon. Our film competed against some awesome competition, so we’re very grateful to be honored with these incredible distinctions. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. We’re hoping to secure a short run at the Living Room Theaters in the coming months. Stay tuned for details.
Shortly after appearing at AFI Fest in November, Indie Slate magazine asked us write about our experiences making Light of Mine. The new quarterly issue featuring our story is now available at most Barnes & Nobles, Books-A-Million, Hastings Chapters, and more, plus nearly every studio in the LA area.
The Lighthouse International Film Festival is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to showcasing new and innovative films and fostering the next generation of filmmakers. The festival offers three days of films, panels, Q&A’s, networking, parties and surfing, and draws some of the industry’s top film critics, producers and distributors. The festival also seeks to serve the community by presenting unique programs that inspire, engage and challenge a diverse audience through the art of film.
About the Festival
The Lighthouse International Film Festival was founded by a collection of filmmakers, film critics and film industry professionals who share a passion for film and wanted to create an event aimed first and foremost at film enthusiasts. The 2011 festival will present feature films, shorts, documentaries and family films, as well as panel discussions with leading film industry professionals. Taking place on Long Beach Island, NJ — one of the East Coast’s most popular surfing destinations — the festival celebrates three days of new, exciting and challenging films in honor of Long Beach Island’s historic Barnegat Lighthouse.
